El Portal Yucatan/Mexican Cuisine is always an experience. They often have live music and mariachis playing, and the service is phenomenal. There’s a great variety of food, so whether you’re a picky eater or adventurous, there’s something for everyone. The menu prices are reasonable, and so is the event pricing if you want to host a private event. El Portal also has great margaritas too.
Fine Dining
Houston’s is the perfect place for a business lunch or a romantic dinner. They have an extensive sushi list and a menu full of classic American fare – burgers, sandwiches, salads, and delicious entrees. We recommend The Hawaiian, a ribeye steak with pineapple-soy-ginger marinade, served with a loaded baked potato. You won’t find a more tender steak.
A Local Gem
Yang Chow Mandarin and Szechuan Cuisine opened in 1977 in Chinatown and now has three locations. The restaurant was started by a family of five brothers. Its popularity exploded in the 1980s when their signature dish, Slippery Shrimp, was featured in the LA Times. The shrimp is fried and covered in a sauce that is hard to describe, but so delicious. Yang Chow’s Slipper Shrimp was even on Food Network. Don’t miss this LA classic.
